About CERES
Ceres SRL stands as a reputable supplier of coco peat substrates for the Moroccan horticulture industry. Established in 1996 by Paolo Battistel, the company initially focused on providing consultancy services for soilless cultures in Agadir. Over the years, CERES has expanded its operations to Italy and the Netherlands, establishing its research station in Agadir.
Founder Paolo Battistel is widely recognized in the soilless substrate industry, having played a key role as the principal consultant for the world’s first coco peat substrate production factory in Sri Lanka. His expertise extends to serving as a consultant and trainer for major agricultural farms in Morocco, including, Azura, Qualiprim, Quality-Mar, Amcassou, Comaprim, and Mathysha, covering a range of crops such as tomatoes, peppers, melons, cucumbers, berries, and citrus.
Paolo Battistel
Paolo Battistel has also diversified his consultancy experience with organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the European Union for Crop Husbandry project, the Egyptian Vegetable Exporters Union, Growers United, Harvest House in the Netherlands, and more. Additionally, he is the founder and trainer of the 1st International Private Practical School for greenhouse managers, providing education on protected crop management to agronomists and workers.
Since its inception in 1996, CERES has been dedicated to innovating soilless growing media for
commercial greenhouses. The company holds certifications for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, reflecting its commitment to the highest standards in quality management, environmental responsibility, and ensuring the health and safety of stakeholders.
Guided by the agricultural expertise of its founder, CERES specializes in meeting the unique needs of commercial greenhouses. This includes designing coir fiber compositions tailored to crop requirements, developing packaging solutions, and actively supporting its clients in their horticultural journey by providing expertise and assistance as needed.
